Hubris

excessive pride or defiance towards the gods, leading to NEMESIS

(Ancient Greek Tragedy)

Roditis – a Greek grape that likes a view from high altitudes.

Cultivated since antiquity, Roditis is one of Greece’s most widely planted grapes.
Hubris – Roditis is crafted from the outstanding, indigenous pink-skinned, lower-yielding, small berried Roditis Alepou. Alepou means “fox”, referring to how the foxes like to snack on the sweet berries.

It is very much terroir-driven, thriving on the north-facing , high altitude slopes of Aigialeia. It remains in stainless steel tanks with the lees for four months, resulting in a subtly aromatic wine with a full body and aromas reminiscent of green apple, melon and pear with sweet notes of citrus. It should be enjoyed young and is most certainly food-friendly, pairing well with appetizers, fish and light Mediterranean cuisine, contrasting with rich dishes, slicing through the fat and oiliness to lighten up the palate.

Nemesis

“is the retribution of divine justice, painful but necessary to restore world balance and order”

(Ancient Greek Tragedy)

Cabernet Sauvignon – Not just a French wine

The first Cabernet Sauvignon was first planted in the 1960s in Greece. Well known all over the world it was not long before it became one of the top wines in Greece. In terms of style, the Aigialeia Cabernets are similar to those in Bordeaux but fruitier with a more balanced acidity without the minerality and austerity of a typical French Cabernet.
NEMESIS Cabernet Sauvignon is perfectly acclimatized to the mountainous vineyards on the north- facing slopes of Aιgialeia on the Peloponnese. Vinification takes place within a seven to fourteen day period during which the wine juice remains with the grape skins.

It matures in French oak barrels for 12 months and after bottling this deep red wine is transferred to a cellar with a year round constant temperature of 18ºC. There it stays for at least 12 months, producing a full bodied, robust and complex wine with a balanced acidity, tannins and an aromatic bouquet of small red fruits and herbs that is enhanced and evolves over time. It pairs well with red meat and game, pasta and matured cheese.
